Our major building and refurbishment programme is providing enviable teaching and learning facilities, outstanding laboratory provision and leading IT resources. The School of Mathematics and Computer Science manages a well-established portfolio of Mathematics and digital technology-related courses covering such areas as Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems as well as new specialism degrees in topics such as Data Science, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Smart Technologies and Cybersecurity.

 

The School is looking to recruit two Senior Technician Demonstrator to support teaching and lab activities in the subject area of Computer Networking, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity and/or robotics. The ideal person should have an undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline and/or technical support/demonstrating experience. A postgraduate degree and/or professional certifications and qualifications would be an advantage.

 

The post-holders will support the School’s practical work, in particular student sessions in the labs under the guidance of academic staff.  The post-holder will also provide technical support and maintenance of school’s lab facilities. These responsibilities will form a variable proportion of the working week and will differ over the academic year.   Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of current health and safety legislation as applicable to laboratory working.
