Senior Lecturer Course Leader Physician Associate Studies
The School of Medicine and Clinical Practice was recently established within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The School offers a BSc in Medical Science and Clinical Practice, a Postgraduate Diploma in Physician Associate (PA) Studies and Master’s courses in Clinical Medicine (the latter offered to medical professionals working in the University of Wolverhampton footprint). There are also research opportunities, with access to the £25 million Rosalind Franklin Building, a state-of-the-art laboratory facility. The School is growing, and we are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in PA Studies to drive to the development of the course and to foster multidisciplinary learning within the University. You will have course leadership responsibilities, ensuring that our graduates are safe and competent practitioners, meeting the competency framework currently described by the Faculty of PAs. You will also work with the General Medical Council to ensure that our students meet the expectations described in their document Outcomes for Graduates (2018) as we move towards registration of PAs. You will be expected to develop an area of research interest, with the ultimate aim of contributing to the University’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission. Collaboration and seeking external funding for research is encouraged. You will be required to undertake scholarly activity, including publication and presentation at conferences to raise the profile of medicine at a local, national and international level. Good communication and excellent organisational skills are essential attributes.
