This is a senior specialist role in data analysis, design and development, and the management of data and systems interfaces/integrations utilising corporate data. You will provide a lead for data quality and management information (MI) reporting across corporate systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, purpose and understanding in the use of corporate data, aiding institutional planning and contributing to the formulation of information and data strategy and policy.

If you are passionate about data, improving data quality and getting the best value from data for MI reporting, this role could be for you!

Working within a specialist team in Digital Services, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and ongoing management of data sources and warehouses, enabling high quality data flows and MI reporting. Working with colleagues across the University of Wolverhampton who are invested in the use of corporate data to enhance areas of the University’s business and services, you will provide expert knowledge and apply your proven technical skills in the extraction, transformation and implementation of data from systems and sources in order to meet business needs.

Data Quality is a key part of this role – ensuring not only quality in the supply of data but also helping the University to achieve its strategic objectives regarding improvements to its core data and processes supporting the gathering, storage and use of core data. This requires tenacity, business insight and clear vision, alongside demonstrable experience and technical skills and expertise in data analysis, design and development.

The role requires an individual who is pro-active, enthusiastic and driven to deliver the best data possible to achieve reliable results. With a sound grasp and knowledge of principles of good data architecture and sector/industry best practise, you will also maintain an oversight of data within the University, providing advice as to both feasibility and future investment in systems, but also to data related programmes and initiatives. With the confidence to spot where data can be improved, you will be pro-active and responsive. Your strong, clear communication skills will be called upon to guide, persuade, encourage and support colleagues at all levels across the University to develop its approach to management of data - contributing to a culture of high quality data and systems.
