Principal Lecturer- Head of Nursing
We are seeking to appoint a Head of Nursing to provide academic leadership and management. The Head of Nursing will join a dynamic team committed to developing teaching excellence, nursing research and enterprise to contribute to achieving the Institute, Faculty and University strategic vision and aims, whilst developing and delivering on the relevant strategic plans. The ability to lead and manage across all fields of nursing and all levels of provision will be expected.
You will be based at the Wolverhampton campus and, working alongside fellow Heads of Nursing, will provide academic leadership and management to the adult and mental health pre-registration and post-registration nursing teams at the Wolverhampton and Telford campuses. You will demonstrate highly effective leadership skills and will have extensive knowledge and understanding of nursing and healthcare in higher education. You will have experience of providing effective leadership in a higher education setting and or working in collaboration with employers and service users.
One of three University faculties, the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing has over 500 staff members and 11,000 students. The Faculty comprises a wide and diverse range of subject areas, research and knowledge exchange activities, organised through four Institutes; the Institute of Human Science, the Institute of Health, the Institute of Community and Society and the Institute of Education.
The Institute of Health includes a wide range of professionally qualifying health care courses.
We are growing to meet the needs of people who wish to work with a host of employers in healthcare and related areas. We include courses in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, paramedic science, podiatry and a wide range of continuing professional development opportunities. We are expanding on our newly developed skills centres to offer hands-on teaching of nursing and healthcare professions skills through a comprehensive range of state of the art equipment.
