The Wolverhampton School of Art seeks to appoint a 0.4 Lecturer to join its team in Media Studies on a fixed-term contract from January 2021 to the end of January 2022.


The post will require the appointee to deliver excellence in teaching across several modules within the subject area, spanning undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. At Level 4 these might be introductory modules around Popular Culture, Visual Studies, Media and Culture. By Levels 5 and 6 these specialise into a focus upon Media, Ethics and Religion, for example. We would also expect you to be able to supervise written student projects at Level 6 as well as contribute to the wider development of the course and its recruitment.


You should hold a good first degree and an MA in Media theory or cognate subject area, or equivalent and although a PhD in the subject is not essential, applicants in possession of this will have an advantage.   You will be able to demonstrate excellent pedagogic skills at HE level and be ready to participate in the wider extra-curricular activities of the School (e.g. curriculum development, outreach, marketing, etc).
