Principal Lecturer- Head of Health Studies
We are seeking to appoint a Head of Health Studies to provide academic leadership and management for the health studies portfolio within the Department of Public Health Studies. The Department is led by two Principal Lecturers (a Head of Public Health and a Head of Health Studies) and the successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team committed to developing teaching, research and enterprise which contributes to the Institute, Faculty and University’s strategic ambitions. The ability to lead and manage an academic team at all levels of provision will be expected.
You will demonstrate highly effective leadership skills and will have extensive knowledge and understanding of health studies/public health provision within higher education. You will have experience of providing effective leadership in a higher education setting, research and publication and of working in collaboration with employers, funding agencies, research partners and wider stakeholders.
One of three University faculties, the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing has over 500 staff members and 11,000 students. The Faculty comprises a wide and diverse range of subject areas, research and knowledge exchange activities, organised through four Institutes; the Institute of Human Science, the Institute of Health, the Institute of Community and Society and the Institute of Education. The Department of Public Health Studies sits within the Institute of Health.
