Postgraduate Research Associate
Fixed Term post until 31st December 2021
The University of Wolverhampton has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to deliver a ‘Composites and Additive Layer Materials Engineering Research and Innovation Centre’ (CALMERIC), alongside our School of Engineering on the Telford Innovation Campus. The CALMERIC project supports small companies (SMEs) based within the Shropshire and Staffordshire counties to carry out research and innovation projects in the field of advanced engineering materials, in collaboration with specialist staff and resources in the Centre.
The Postgraduate Research Associate will be responsible for carrying out and supporting research and innovation activities in the CALMERIC centre, working with the specialist technical and academic staff within the School of Engineering. You will carry out research work and support research graduate interns to enables the SMEs to develop products that incorporate advanced materials and modern manufacturing techniques.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual keen to embark on an independent research career and with particular interest or experience of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering Research. As part of the process of selecting candidates for this role, we will ask short-listed applicants to present a short presentation of their research interests in line with one or more areas of interests within Centre of Engineering Research and Innovation, University of Wolverhampton.
