It is an exciting time for digital services at the University of Wolverhampton and we are hoping that you will be a key part of it with us. We have just approved a new University Digital Strategy which has delivering digital confidence University-wide and digital transformation in all our services at its core. Alongside that is a comprehensive programme of investment and improvements to everything we do as an IT Services team. These are the first in a set of new posts for the IT team which we hope will enable us to deliver the digital change to match the University’s exciting teaching, learning, research and professional services ambitions. We are genuinely looking for the best possible candidates who can bring new energy and ideas to the team and will be fully committed to creating a sector leading digital university environment. Please do take a look at this role and consider whether you have the right skills, confidence, energy and attitude to help us succeed. We very much look forward to speaking with you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Information security professional to work with our Head of Information Security, the wider ITS Team and University colleagues in ensuring the operational security of University data and systems. You will also be required to assist in the definition and operational implementation of security policies and procedures to ensure the most up-to-date, effective University approach to information security.

This is a transformational role supporting and delivering a strategic change in the University’s approach to Information Security.

You will have a strong background across a range of ICT technologies including previous responsibility for security administration, as well as a solid understanding of the demands, opportunities and issues in delivering information security services in a large complex organisation like a university.

You will have the opportunity of working with staff at all levels as well as our students, visitors and suppliers so you will need to be an excellent communicator who is customer-orientated and has a confident, persuasive approach to information security.
