The University of Wolverhampton holds a distinctive place within the higher education sector, and is one of the most successful modern universities, delivering excellence in teaching and research, widening access, and in business engagement. Having begun life nearly 190 years ago to enhance education and skill base of the workforce in what is today a
major industrial conurbation, we have continued to fulfil and develop the role to meet the needs of the region we serve. Today as the ‘University of Opportunity’, the University of Wolverhampton is an integral part of economic growth and social change within the West Midlands and beyond.
One of four University faculties, the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing has over 500 staff members and 11,000 students. The Faculty comprises a wide and diverse range of subject areas, research and knowledge exchange activities, organised through four Institutes; the Institute of Human Science, the Institute of Health, the Institute of Community
and Society and the Institute of Education.
The Institute of Health includes a wide range of professionally qualifying health care courses. We are growing to meet the needs of people who wish to work with a host of employers in healthcare and related areas. We include courses in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, paramedic science, podiatry and a wide range of continuing professional development
opportunities. We are expanding on our newly developed skills centres to offer hands-on teaching of nursing and healthcare professions skills through a comprehensive range of state of the art equipment.
