RIILP brings together two complementary and interdisciplinary research teams, the Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group (SCRG) and the Research Group in Computational Linguistics (RGCL), which explore the potential of advanced computing technologies for ‘understanding’ human language and social sciences, respectively.


The Research Group in Computational Linguistics (RGCL) from the Research Institute in Information and Language Processing (RIILP) is an internationally leading research unit with outstanding research track record which has contributed significantly to the visibility of our university. In particular, the research output of RGCL has been and is prolific.


This is an exciting opportunity to join RGCL as a Project Assistant with a specific focus on reviewing and improving the language used in research papers written by non-native speakers of English. As such it is essential that you have excellent English language skills and the ability to review written documentation. Other key areas of this role will include gathering, analysing, interpreting, annotating and post-editing data and assisting in the development of methodologies and resources by the group.
