Process Engineer-KTP with Eumar Technologies and Sentient Foams Ltd
This is a 30 month fixed term contract, this post is based in Hereford
This KTP project offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate to launch a career in industry with the support of company and academic mentors. Sentient Foams is part of a group of companies who specialize in the development and manufacture of innovative products from highly absorbent materials. Sentient is a brand new Aliphatic foam which has exciting opportunities for use in Hygiene, Healthcare and Cosmetic applications.
The Process Engineer will work with the management team responsible for Technical, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing. You will be responsible for taking product design concepts through to commercial production. The responsibilities will include product design evaluation, improvement and validation. You will also be involved in process design and optimization, data analysis and communication of results. The work may also involve preparation of technical files for Medical devices.
You should be able to work independently and will have at least a first degree (1st or 2.1) in chemistry/chemical engineering/polymer science or equivalent and preferably with some relevant experience in manufacturing and/or medical devices. However new graduates with the right ambitions and aptitude will also be considered. Ideally you should have a demonstrated background in chemicals/polymers used in Medical devices, and:
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and make product conclusions and recommendations.
- Excellent problem solving techniques.
- Enthusiastic, with the ability to set objectives and meet milestones for multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate results and needs to technical colleagues and suppliers.
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills
To support your commitment to continuous self-development you will have a generous personal development budget in addition to Management Training provided by the KTP scheme. Additional training in areas required by the project will be provided as necessary.
You will be employed by The University of Wolverhampton and will be based at Eumar in Hereford with time spent using the Chemical Engineering laboratories at the University of Wolverhampton as necessary. You must be willing and able to travel independently both within the UK and overseas.
