Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing
As the Institute of Health is expanding, we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic experienced Senior Lecturer to contribute to the provision of high quality teaching and research. You will predominantly support our pre- registration adult nursing programmes but will also contribute to the wider provision within the Institute of Health, as necessary. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in the following areas (desirable but not essential): Skills and simulation, Dementia care, non-medical prescribing, Advanced Health assessment, distance learning.
Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within nursing are a requirement of the role alongside the maintenance of high academic standards and enhancement of the student experience. You will have a commitment to engaging with the practice environment and maintain up to date knowledge and skills enabling the delivery of a dynamic, responsive curriculum. You will contribute to the development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses, linking with relevant external partners and the generation of external income for the University.
You will be educated to a minimum of a Master’s degree level or equivalent and must be registered in the UK with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse (RN) (Adult Field). Experience of healthcare provision at an appropriate level within nursing is essential alongside an understanding of healthcare policy and provision both locally and nationally. Experience of teaching student nurses in practice would be a valuable asset.
We particularly welcome applications from adult nurses who have experience in HEI or in senior positions in a health care environment. The role will be fully supported by the nursing team and Head of Adult Nursing.
