Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Public Health
The Faculty of Education Health & Wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton is one of the leading providers of public health, social care & nursing courses to students in the UK and abroad. Our current provision in the Public Health subject area includes undergraduate and postgraduate courses in public health and health studies as well as other health and social care related courses delivered either on campus or via a distance learning route; it also includes the internationally recognised Master of Public Health award (MPH), one of the largest and most popular MPH courses in the UK. These exciting and innovative courses provide our vibrant student community with a strong focus on developing high standards in healthcare and are strengthened by the opportunities that interprofessional learning, teaching and research can offer.
Our outstanding provision has been recognised by those wishing to study with us; due to an increase in student numbers at postgraduate level we’re looking to enhance our existing academic team in Public Health. The post will be offered at one of two levels as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer and is dependent upon the applicant’s ability to meet the requirements of the job description. The post is offered on a full time basis.
You will be a hard-working, professional, committed and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team. Educated to Masters level or above, you will have a proven track record of academic expertise in the subject areas of Public Health, Health Studies and Health & Social Care practice, or a combination of these. In particular, you will have excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods as well as an advanced level of understanding in Statistics and Epidemiology. As well as contributing to awards in this area, you will be expected to work closely with colleagues across all subject areas and contribute to a range of popular degrees within the Faculty, and to engage in research & consultancy. We want you to help our existing team of friendly, motivated and passionate academics ensure that students get the best from our courses. If this sounds like you the job for you, we want to hear from you.
