Using your extensive knowledge of business you will be working with local and regional businesses to support business growth and greater business engagement with the University. Additionally you will support the contribution to the development of business related activities that generate external income for Faculties and Departments. You will assist in the contribution to marketing the University’s services regionally, nationally and internationally, and will support the Business Development Managers and Director of Business Solutions in developing and forming relationships with corporate partners in business support agencies and local government, as well as assisting in the account managing a number of key clients. You will assist in the gathering of market intelligence, also assist Faculties develop new products and methods of working to meet client needs and hence increase the external income generation of the Faculties and the University.


You will have a first degree, preferably in business or equivalent relevant experience and will combine experience in a business with an understanding of the academic environment. You will have a track record of successfully contributing proactively towards the development of new business and expanding existing businesses. You should have experience in market development, working with senior managers in the private and/or public sector together with experience of communication management or the management of corporate relationships at a senior level. You will have excellent networking, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills and you will also possess effective planning and project management skills and with the ability to work unsupervised. Advanced IT skills are essential. Previous experience of supporting and compiling bids for external income generation purposes would also be advantageous.
