Business Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of high-quality professional development placements that enhance student engagement, satisfaction and graduate outcomes.
This pivotal role will develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with employers, health trusts, local authorities and key regional businesses to embed meaningful virtual and in-person placements within the curriculum. Working across faculties and with Research, Enterprise and Development (RED) and Marketing, you will align placement growth to workforce priorities and skills gaps, ensuring our students graduate with the experience, confidence and skills required to thrive in a competitive labour market.
You will bring a proven track record of developing senior-level partnerships, delivering against performance targets and influencing across complex stakeholder environments. With strong commercial acumen, political awareness and a commitment to social mobility and inclusive growth, you will play a central role in positioning the University as a leading institution for business and civic engagement.
