UK Recruitment Events Assistant (part-time 17 hours per week)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Recruitment Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality recruitment and conversion events for the University.
You will work closely with the Events Manager and the Events Assistant team, providing essential organisational and logistical support to ensure recruitment events run smoothly and professionally. The role is central to the successful planning and delivery of on-campus and off-campus recruitment activity, supporting the University’s student recruitment objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide logistical and operational support for recruitment events and activities, both on and off campus.
- Lead on the set-up and delivery of internal recruitment events, including Open Days, Applicant Days, Clearing activity and other on-campus events.
- Coordinate event logistics, including room set-ups, equipment, materials, registrations, and on-the-day support.
- Work to agreed action plans and event schedules, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and to deadlines.
- Coordinate and support teams involved in events, including academic colleagues, student ambassadors, and professional services staff, to ensure a consistent and positive event experience.
- Support the team’s attendance at national exhibitions and large-scale recruitment fairs (e.g. UCAS and UK University Search events), including preparation, logistics, and on-the-day delivery.
- Manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously, demonstrating strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Provide general operational support across the wider Recruitment and Partnerships team, as required.
Working Arrangements
The role will require occasional travel within the West Midlands and, at times, across the UK, as well as evening and weekend working during peak recruitment periods such as Open Days, Applicant Events and Clearing.
About You
We are seeking an organised, proactive individual who:
- Has experience of providing logistical and organisational support within an events, operations, or customer-facing environment.
- Is able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships.
- Demonstrates attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow event plans and processes.
- Is confident working as part of a team and taking responsibility for defined areas of event delivery.
- Has experience of using CRM systems or databases and can demonstrate strong data accuracy skills (desirable).
