Are you a highly organised and customer-focused individual with experience in finance or cash handling? The University of Wolverhampton is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Finance – Income Section team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key operational role within a busy finance environment, where accuracy, professionalism and strong customer service skills are essential. You will support the University’s cashiering function and ensure income is receipted and recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent.
What you’ll be doing:
- Receipting and posting card and bank transfer payments onto the University finance system.
- Processing web refunds and resolving posting corrections.
- Supporting the Income Section inbox and hunt group telephone queries.
- Assisting students and staff with payment-related queries at the counter.
- Updating student finance records within SITS (SCC screens).
- Producing statements and supporting reconciliation activities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with university procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a finance, cashiering, or high-volume transactional environment.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence in handling financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with students and colleagues.
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy operational setting.
- Good IT skills, including experience of finance or student systems (desirable).
