Working Hours: Accumulation of evening and weekend work to support BUCS and NBL division 3 sides as directed by the Head of Basketball.


WLV Sport is part of the Institute of Human Sciences situated in the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing and provides physical activity and sports provision for students, staff and the local community on behalf of the University of Wolverhampton we are looking to hire a Part Time Basketball Coach   


WLV Sport delivers a comprehensive sports programme to students, staff and community which spans participation, competition and elite sport. The University also participates in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) to which we currently enter two Men’s basketball teams and one Women’s basketball team. Furthermore, the university currently administers a Men’s National Basketball League Division 3 team and a Women’s local league team.


Basketball is a ‘focus’ sport for the university and we share a vision to become a leading institution within the HE and national competitive framework for basketball. To enable us to achieve that vision, we are recruiting for 2x Performance Coaches to support the tactical and technical aspects of coaching and to support the Head of Basketball in the overall programme development. The two roles will work cohesively and provide coaching support for all teams and individuals. These exciting roles are deliberately fluid to give the successful candidates the opportunity to work across a number of areas within the basketball programme.


To be successful in the role, you will have;

  • Experience(s) and relevant qualifications in coaching Basketball (essential),
  • Share an understanding of Basketball at HE level, in particular, BUCS,
  • Be enthusiastic, empathetic towards students and remain flexible to meet the demands of the programme.
