We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, motivated individual to join the Bidding Support Team (BST) as the External Funding Officer.

You will support staff at the University to develop and submit funding applications for projects to a wide variety of funders, both UK and International, including UK Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe, UK Government and more. This exciting position will afford you the opportunity to work across the University (and beyond) engaging with a wide range of audiences to inspire, encourage and build capacity.

 

Working with others in the Bidding Support Team, faculties, and various central departments, you will support staff with institutional processes, eligibility checks, bid development, costing support and submission. Knowledge of the bidding lifecycle and excellent oral and written communication skills are therefore essential in order to be successful in this role, as is the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and demands whilst working to tight deadlines.

 

Proven successful experience of preparing or supporting external funding bids is essential for this role, as it knowledge of funding programmes accessible for Higher Education. You will need to be skilled in influencing and negotiation, and have the ability to train and mentor others, including the 2 members of staff you will line manage.
