The University of Wolverhampton Library is seeking to appoint a Content, Digital and Research Support Manager. The post holder will be part of the Library Senior Management Team, and lead the Content, Digital Library and Scholarly Communications teams. Managing the procurement and discoverability of library resources, overseeing the development of digital library systems and leading on library support for open research are key elements of the role.


The post is based within the University Library team, in the wider Directorate of Student and Academic Services (DSAS). The directorate brings together complementary departments with the overarching aim of providing excellent student support. It is integral to the academic achievement of students, and plays an instrumental role in the implementation of key university strategies designed to deliver outstanding student experience, whilst demonstrating commitment to upholding the university’s values of equity and inclusivity. With approximately 150 staff, DSAS comprises Careers, Enterprise and the Workplace, Student Support and Wellbeing and The University Library, all underpinned by a Business Support function. 


The ideal candidate will be resourceful, highly organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will have the ability to manage complex projects and lead a team of approx. 15 staff. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the collections budget is used effectively and that purchasing is efficient. The role also has responsibility for the development and implementation of library systems, including Ex Libris’ Alma, Primo and Leganto. The post holder will also lead on library support for developing an open research culture within the University, working closely with colleagues in research services to advocate for, and put in place, the infrastructure to support open research practice.
