The Wolverhampton School of Art is seeking to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer in Journalism.

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and creative candidate to lead our portfolio in Journalism, specifically our current degree course BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism. You will be a practitioner with extensive experience in video/television journalism and/or production as well as other emerging and new storytelling platforms and formats (e.g. social media/ mobile and data journalism). You will have a balance of professional/industry and teaching experience (ideally in Higher Education). Having either left the industry, or with continuing industry engagement, you will possess an enthusiasm that inspires confidence and builds a good rapport with students, University colleagues and external partners. Knowledge or experience of social media management and marketing would be an advantage.

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds. Experience of H.E. course leadership, PSRB accreditation and postgraduate teaching would be an advantage.

Any informal enquiries about this post should be directed to Dr Pritpal Sembi, Deputy Head of School (P.Sembi@wlv.ac.uk).

The University of Wolverhampton celebrates diversity and recognises that difference brings value to our organisation.

As part of our commitment to ensure the diversity of staff body reflects the diversity of the student and local communities we serve, we particularly welcome applications from candidates of Black, Asian, or Ethnic Minority heritage, and candidates who are Disabled (including people who whilst not self-defining as disabled do encounter challenges due to a society that disables them by lack of inclusivity).

We are proud to have been awarded Disability Confident employer status, included in the Stonewall list of employers and are working towards improving our practices against Athena Swan and the Race Equality Charter. We believe in creating an even playing field for all our colleagues, where we can all belong.
