It is an exciting time for digital services at the University of Wolverhampton and we are hoping that you will be a key part of it with us. We have just approved a new University Digital Strategy which has delivering digital confidence University-wide and digital transformation in all our services at its core. Alongside that is a comprehensive programme of investment and improvements to everything we do as an IT Services team. These are the first in a set of new posts for the IT team which we hope will enable us to deliver the digital change to match the University’s exciting teaching, learning, research and professional services ambitions. We are seeking an experienced Service Desk Manager who will lead our already established Service Desk team. Reporting to the Head of Digital Operations you will work with other senior managers to develop a service that meets the needs of the university.

 

You will preferably be ITIL qualified (or equivalent) or at least have experience of working within an IT Service Management environment ensuring that incidents are managed within service levels.

 

You will lead and manage our team to ensure the highest possible standard of service maturity.  This will involve defining operational standards for the Service Desk, developing a set of measures and operational reports to communicate service performance and leading a culture of continuous improvement within the Service Desk

 

Our ambition is to have a sector leading customer centric service that adapts to the changes within the university community with ease. Therefore, we need a skilled manager who can develop the service and who won’t be afraid to try new and innovative ideas to take the service forward.
