The Department of Sport, within the Institute of Human Sciences, is seeking to appoint a 0.6FTE Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning on a 12 month fixed-term contract to complement the current staff team. Experience of working with special populations is desirable. The Department of Sport has wide ranging expertise in areas such as sport sociology, sports coaching, sports and exercise psychology, exercise physiology for elite performance and health, physical education, and strength and conditioning. Research within the department is characterised by excellence and breadth, and its quality was recognised by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework audit.


You will be required to teach and assess on a range of programs within the Institute, in particular, the BSc (Hons) Strength and Conditioning, BSc (Hons) Exercise and Health and BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science. You will also contribute to the development of a new MSc Strength and Conditioning and a re-validated BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science. You will be expected to contribute to a thriving teaching and research environment, and research/scholarship informed teaching. Applicants should also demonstrate potential to contribute to the Institute’s income generation and outreach and development activities.
