Faculty Administration provides an integrated and high-quality professional service to applicants, students and staff across the University.  You will be based within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.  The Faculty is a dynamic learning community committed to enhancing the quality of education for students locally, nationally and internationally.


An exciting opportunity has arisen to enhance our financial support to the range of Faculty business and research services, and the academic mission of the Faculty.


In this role you would:


  • Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all staff and suppliers in regard to financial transactions, payments and processes;
  • Provide appropriate advice, guidance and support to staff and senior management on Faculty Finance where necessary;
  • Assist the Assistant Faculty Registrar (Resources) with the day-to-day financial administration of the Faculty, especially with the production of financial reports.

Proven experience of working in a finance based role is essential, with experience of purchasing and invoicing, budget monitoring and reconciliation, and high standards of literacy and numeracy.  You will have a good standard of education, office and administration experience and be proficient in the use of office technology.  Experience in the use of Excel to Intermediate level and Agresso Business World would be advantageous. 


You will have a proactive and professional approach, with good organisational capabilities and an ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy whilst working under pressure.  A demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity, an understanding of data protection and freedom of information legislation are essential.


You will be required to be flexible in your working hours to meet the demands of business.
