The Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Policing who has the ability to make a substantial contribution to our Policing programmes.
Policing is located in the Department of Social Science, Inclusion and Public Protection, a large interdisciplinary unit which constitutes a rich and diverse range of academic disciplines, including popular degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice and Fire and Rescue Services.
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the provision of high quality teaching and student support in Policing. We seek applications from individuals with experience of professional police practice who have the ability to make a contribution to the development of the Policing portfolio. We are proud to be involved in the development and implementation of the new Police Education Qualifications Framework which includes the new Professional Practice Policing Degree and Graduate Conversion Course which will be rolled out nationally.
You will have a good first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, a Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification and should be able to demonstrate experience of high quality teaching and student support. A background in operational policing is essential. We also welcome applications from candidates with expertise in the areas of intelligence led policing, digital policing or counter terrorism.
The University of Wolverhampton values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
