The institute of Social Work and Care is newly configured to provide an environment that will foster talent and ambition.  The formation of the institute is aligned to employer needs and the changing agenda of social work and social care.


We are seeking to transform our social work and social care offer and wish to appoint an experienced leader to join our team as our Director of the Institute of Social Work and Care.


The role will focus on the leadership and transformation of the institute, and work closely with colleagues and partners to deliver the strategic aims of the faculty and university.


Through excellent leadership and creating a high performance culture you will support and achieve:


  • Improving and embedding stakeholder engagement
  • Increasing student numbers to meet local, regional and national demand from employers
  • Create a culture that encourages success within the institute community
  • Realising the ambition to have a vibrant and successful Social Work and Social Care offer for students and staff – one that provides an excellent learning research and working environment.


You will be educated to Doctoral level (or equivalent) and will have experience of working in partnership with employers in social work and care.  You will have an excellent understanding of the policy landscape associated with professional social work and social care education.  You will be required to engage with key stakeholders to deliver a dynamic, responsive and research enriched curriculum.
