University of Wolverhampton in Stafford Centre Coordinator
This post is fixed term until 31st October 2020
This exciting post forms part of the University’s development of Regional Learning Centres, its commitment to lifelong learning, to increasing local provision and responsiveness to the needs of students and employers, and to creating clear pathways into HE. You will support the development of, and be responsible for, the ongoing coordination and success of the University of Wolverhampton in Stafford Centre located at 2a Staffordshire Place, Stafford.
The goal of the Centre is to increase the profile of higher education in Stafford and across the county, particularly awareness of the University of Wolverhampton portfolio of programmes and services, and to deliver growth in HE students. Central to the development and core to this role will be the establishment and maintenance of effective partnerships with education providers and key organisations locally to create new learning opportunities and progression routes locally. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Centre, providing a responsive HE environment for new and ongoing students, their families and employers. You will work within the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) and with Faculties and partners to provide a high quality learning environment, innovative and responsive provision including outreach, engagement and curriculum offers for new and existing HE students and links to FE, adult education and school students and liaise with Business Solutions to provide appropriate CPD and business support services. You will coordinate the delivery of a suite of local HE modules and programmes in partnership with the Faculties and work with key Corporate Service Departments such as Registry, External Relations, and staff in the Directorate of Recruitment and Partnerships and the Dean of Staffordshire to ensure that smooth and seamless operations are maintained at all times. You will ensure that a co-ordinated Information, Advice and Guidance service is offered to potential students and that this relates to the breadth of educational opportunities, career pathways and support requirements for studying at HE level. Crucially, you will be the public face of the Centre and the University and will work in conjunction with University Departments, Faculties and staff to promote the Centre’s activities locally through engagement and networking activities with stakeholders and key groups. You will coordinate the administration and reception staff, report into relevant University committees and will be responsible for monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions linked to the Centre’s performance. You will link with University Centre Telford, the University’s first Regional Learning Centre. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
This post is fixed term for 2 years in the first instance, but it is envisaged that it will become permanent.
