We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Social Work to lead the provision of high quality social work teaching and research within the Institute of Community and Society. You will lead the academic team to develop new curriculum developments in partnership with employers. The role will include maintenance of high academic standards, enhancement of the student experience,  development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses and the generation of external income for the University.


You will be educated to a minimum of a Master’s degree level or equivalent and will have experience of working in partnership with employers in social work and an excellent understanding of policies locally and nationally that impact on social work provision. You will have a commitment to engaging with the social work placement settings and maintaining up to date knowledge and skills relevant to social work in order to deliver a dynamic, responsive curriculum. Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within social work are also a requirement of the post, to contribute towards the portfolio of social work and the profile of the faculty.
