Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Reader of Structural Engineering within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Ambitious candidates with aspirations to progress to professorial status are particularly encouraged to apply.

 

The School of Architecture & the Built Environment is an active and thriving area within the University with good industrial links and professionally accredited programmes delivered in the UK and overseas. Expansion of the School will coincide with the move to brand new, custom built facilities as part of the University’s ongoing £250M investment program. Civil Engineering is experiencing rapid growth and plans are in place to develop new courses including an MSc Civil & Structural Engineering and a full time accredited MEng programme.

 

You will lead the development of the proposed new MSc Course; and contribute to research and teaching across the School of Architecture and Built Environment’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Experience and expertise in course development and accreditation will be a distinct advantage.

 

Depending on academic standing eligible candidates may apply for the title of Reader/Professor. Candidates have to indicate in their application which title would they want the application to be considered for.
