The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) within the University of Wolverhampton seeks to engage with business and offer consultancy and collaboration opportunities that bring benefit to both parties.  The University has been successful in securing a new contract for the Innovative Product Support Service (IPSS), which is providing part ERDF funded support to local companies to help them develop new products. To be eligible, companies must qualify as ‘Small or Medium Enterprises’ (SME’s) and be based within the Black Country, the Marches, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership areas.

You will be responsible for delivering product design consultancy to qualifying SME companies that are engaged in developing technical and innovative new products. This is a key role for an engineer or product designer with specialist skills in engineering CAD.

You will be expected to personally develop and deliver new concept designs using CAD software, including the development and fulfilment of product specifications, Design FMEA and the completion of prototypes in our brand new Fablab at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park.
