The University is committed to delivering Biosciences courses at the highest levels in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level programmes and is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to help develop our taught curriculum and research in the area of Biotechnology. The post will involve contributing to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching to students on our new undergraduate and developing postgraduate biosciences programmes.


You will have evidence of being able to deliver research outcomes that will contribute to the REF, either by evidence of independent research with the capability of attracting support or by engaging with one or more of the successful research areas that form part of the School’s research portfolio. You will have a minimum of a good honours degree and doctorate in Biology, Biotechnology or an area related to the biosciences. Good communication and organisational skills are essential attributes.


The Department of Biology, Chemistry and Forensic Science is an active and expanding area within the University. There are laboratory facilities available for biosciences together with extensive facilities for biotechnology on our Telford Innovation Campus. As part of the University’s on-going investment in science and technology, the Faculty’s research and teaching laboratory activity has recently relocated into a new £25 million laboratory building. This houses state-of-the art teaching and research facilities to support the sciences.
