Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way project between a graduate, an organisation and a university.

KTP is one of the largest graduate recruitment programmes across the UK, placing graduates (KTP Associates), to work on challenging, high profile projects.

As a KTP Associate you can expect:

      Career acceleration

Valuable experience and marketable, highly transferable skills

      A competitive salary

Practical and formal management training and development

An excellent chance of a permanent post with the company

This KTP project offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate to launch a career in industry with the support of company and academic mentors. MFDS has joined forces with the University of Wolverhampton on this KTP project to enable them to better simulate a buildings energy performance.

Started in 1999, MFDS LTD is a family run company providing the construction industry with outstanding levels of service and the highest quality CAD drawings for building envelope design. MFDS' core business is as a design company. Over the last 5 years they have invested significant time and money to develop their knowledge in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and are now looking to diversify the business to develop their BIM offering further to complement the work they are already doing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing a programme of work developing new methods of integrating BIM with smart building sensor technology.

You should hold a minimum of BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Computer Science or closely related subject.

In addition you must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of sensor based technology and the ability to programme using C# or equivalent programming language. As part of this role you will be required to programme new tools to work alongside existing BIM platforms.

It would be desirable to have an understanding of the BIM process but this is not essential to work in this exciting new area of the construction industry.

In addition to having the skills to manage this project, you should have the ability to build and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships, and be able to work flexibly in a team environment.

To support your commitment to continuous self-development you will have a generous personal development budget in addition to Management Training provided by the KTP scheme. You will be able to access the resources of the university as required.

You will be employed by The University of Wolverhampton and will be based at MFDS in Hereford. You must be willing and able to travel independently both within the UK and overseas.
