We are recruiting to a Lecturer post in Social Work. This is an exciting opportunity to come and be part of our growth, development and contribute to the enhancement of our courses.

You will in particular have experience as a Social Worker working with Children and families or Adults services, as you will be expected to teach across our Social Work Programmes. You must be a qualified and registered social worker. You will be keen to impart your knowledge, love of excellence and inclusive practice to students. You will undertake the role of Lecturer and contribute to teaching social work with vulnerable people.

Your role will include supporting the placement team. Engagement with the local Placement Providers and Employers is a crucial part of the role. You will also support the development and quality assurance and enhancement of new placements. You will have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills and post qualifying experience of social work practice including work within the statutory setting. You will work closely with the placement team to make certain that students and key stakeholders in placements understand and work with the learning outcomes in an integrated manner.

You will also contribute expertise across our range of courses in the School of Health and Society particularly but not exclusively. Recent relevant experience would be an advantage.

This is an exciting time to join the School of Health and Society at the University of Wolverhampton and you will be part of a diverse and dynamic team. You will be keen to work closely with our external partner agencies and play a role in developing our provision.

We have a growing doctoral community with funded studentships so we very much welcome research active academics committed to doctoral supervision (if applicable), contributing to research and ethics activity within the School and able and willing to seek research funding. We welcome applicants with a PhD or very close to completion.

We are an expanding and developing team and if you are a creative, innovative, hard-working individual, committed to inclusive practice, we would love to hear from you. For an informal conversation you can speak with Sandra Shaw, Head of Social Work in the School of Health and Society: s.shaw2@wlv.ac.uk
